5 Summer-Ready Curb Appeal Tips

  1. Powerwashing!

  2. Landscaping basics:

    1. Establish your type of landscaping style: English Garden, Oriental Landscape, Woodland Landscape, Formal Landscape,

    2. Mulch goes a long way!

    3. Plant perennials that bloom in different seasons so you always have something blooming through spring, summer, and fall. Mix in evergreens so you have greenery over wintertime instead of just a sea of brown.

    4. Add plants in phases. You don’t have to do it all at once! Leave room for annuals if you want to add new plants each year

    5. Vary heights, textures, and colors … unless you’re like Kimmy and want a moon garden with only white flowers!

  3. Removable decor:

    1. Pots and plants and hanging baskets, window boxes

    2. Wreaths

    3. Rugs

  4. Furniture and Fixtures

    1. Get rid of the storm door and paint your exterior door

    2. Change outdated lighting/sconces

    3. Paint touch-ups around the house and paint the mailbox like Bre did!

    4. Change the numbers on your house with updated or vintage-looking metal numbers

    5. Change your hose to a more pretty or neutral one with a pretty nozel

    6. Add fun stuff like swings, deck chairs, lounge chairs, hammocks, sofas, and a fire table

  5. Create Activity Zones. Such as: outdoor dining, grilling, lounging, pool, bonfire pit, gardening, kid play area (Tip- use budget-friendly pea gravel to designate zones)

    1. Mosquito prevention tips: lavender, citronella plants, get rid of any standing water
