When you renovate a home yourself, you learn as you go. Today, we want to save you from making some of the mistakes we did by sharing our renovation regrets. Then we’re giving each other a Domestic Dare - a challenge to do something outside our comfort zone. Of course, we’ll end with sharing some things we’re loving lately.

Renovation Regrets

Kimmy: 

• Never renovating kitchen while living in your home

• Placement and size of recessed lighting 

• DIY countertops installment plus upkeep 

• Kitchen backsplash tiling and grouting

• Flooring in Great Room and Bathroom

Emily: 

• No pantry in kitchen

• Can lights in the kitchen

• Not finishing the trim

• Not removing carpets sooner

Bre: 

• Kitchen counter 

• How we caulked our countertop and sink

• Not getting a nice faucet from the beginning
