Episode 16: Spring Cleaning Made Easier

The sun is shining, birds are singing, flowers are blooming … it’s time for Spring Cleaning! We know that cleaning isn’t most people’s favorite thing to do, so today we’ve got plenty of tips for making your spring cleaning easier. Kimmy is seeking a new dining room light, and we’ll see if we can help her find one. As always, we’ll end with pillow talk. 

Highs and Lows

Emily: Saturday situation with a trip to the ER right before branding photos

Spring Cleaning Tips

Emily’s General Tips: 

  1. Make a plan: My checklist, easy meals, involving your kids, pace yourself

  2. Get the right tools  - Magic erasers, swiffer extendable duster, steam mop, carpet cleaner, Folex, Bar Keeper’s friend, powdered Tide

  3. Start at the top and work your way down

  4. Declutter as you go - You Can’t Clean Clutter! 



Whole house:

  • Mudroom - winter stuff wash and pack away, bring out spring and summer

  • Air filters

  • Carpets and rugs

  • Curtains

  • Baseboards

  • Walls- Magic eraser

Kitchen:

  • Dishwasher filter

  • Clean the pantry, fridge and freezer

  • Clean behind the fridge

  • Tile grout

Bedrooms:

  • Rotate mattresses

  • Clean out closets

 Bathrooms:

  • Shower curtain liner

  • Toss expired products/stuff you don’t like or use

Office:

  • Decluttering - paper clutter, books, supplies

Living Rooms:

  • Vacuum furniture

  • Declutter toys

  • Declutter decor

  • Does everything have a home? Where are the clutter magnets and what solutions could you put in place?
